Precisely. The notion that Moore used to be in Greenpeace, now he owns a large corporation which means he is a shill.. is retarded.
And I do believe in what I am doing. Saving people money on their electric bill is a great thing.

For Christ's sake PB. You don't what know what Ad Hominem is and you don't know what a shill is? Google doesn't make it to your computer?
Look at minute 4 in your video. That's being a shill. Lifelong ecologist, Check|founder of Greenpeace, Check|Paid spokesperson for industry contributing to ACC, Crickets. That's what a shill is.
Moore runs a company to help other companies talk the environmental talk. Doesn't have shit to do with being environmentally friendly. Some examples are talking about the benefits of lice that go from farmed salmon to wild salmon and that clear cutting is a good thing because it lets the baby trees grow in lots of sunshine.
You help people be more environmentally friendly, Moore helps people tell people they are environmentally friendly. Do you see the difference?
His nuclear energy views immediately changed when he got money from the nuclear energy industry, which causes many people to consider him a shill. Even if I think worries about nuclear energy are overblown it doesn't really fit well with this quote:
to end up a paid spokesman for nuclear energy. What he did for Asia Pulp & Paper was not to get experts to help them be more environmental, but to flat out hire PR professionals to make them sound better. That's a lot different than helping companies be better (which he has also done). So you don't think I'm being an "omg don't kill trees!" type, what AP&P did was to also screw a whole lot of loggers out of their jobs.Quote:

I just saw a story about the fleet of vehicles that the Sierra Club has.. Which illustrates this perfectly.
cwolff still screaming "shill!" because Moore's company did some consultancy work with energy companies but he won't make a single comment on what Moore is saying?
Working with energy companies automatically means your argument is suspect.
We need an impartial judge on this one; Latrin, is this an ad hominem?
Taking definitions from Wikipedia is bad....
shill
[shil] Show IPA Slang.
noun
1.
a person who poses as a customer in order to decoy others into participating, as at a gambling house, auction, confidence game, etc.
2.
a person who publicizes or praises something or someone for reasons of self-interest, personal profit, or friendship or loyalty.
I don't see Moore posing as a customer. I haven't seen him praising "energy companies" except maybe when they are working towards reducing their carbon footprint. Then again, I haven't been following him 24/7 like you have maybe.
Looks like maybe for the logging industry. Of course Cwolff said energy companies.
Now.. I would say if this is a shill... then pretty much every liberal with any stock in a solar energy company is a Shill.
Al Gore is certainly a Shill.
