"UPDATE 3-U.S. House overwhelmingly approves bill backing record military spending"
"The U.S. House of Representatives backed legislation on Thursday paving the way for the defense budget to hit a record $858 billion next year, $45 billion more than proposed by President Joe Biden."
Odd that you would say that... as this just happened.
Now I'm a strong supporter for the Military and National Defense... as that is the primary job of the Federal Government - secure the homeland (let's not even get into the border)... but this makes absolutely zero sense.
We're supposedly not currently at war. We were at war for 20 years... but while we're supposedly not at war, the budget is only increasing?
Considering that recruiting goals are not being met - and that recruiting goals for the foreseeable future are not going to be met due to the current lack of young people able/willing to join... Tell me again how this makes any sense?
Spending more while at "peace" than while at "war"... doesn't pass the smell test.
