Amazon has paid for priority service for local delivery and hires its own drivers for a lot of its warehouse stock. Meanwhile, Pharmacy A has to compete for space for its OTC medications, with Industry A who is stocking up on wheel barrel tires, Industry B backordered windshield brackets, and Retailer A whose stocking up on oak end tables.

Everyone is backfilling inventory and that doesn't account for the number of regional logistics hubs overfilled with retailers who leave goods at Port and only take final delivery when they're absolutely out.

Smart companies pay for better logistics solutions, everyone else competes.
