If you let kids go to recess or a sporting events why does it matter the kids have a hardened classroom? If someone is set on bringing an AR to do mass harm, they will find the most opportune time.
Yes. I am very aware other countries live under our security umbrella and are afforded their freedoms provided by our nations military.. I never said we should take weapons away from our military or police force. I do think regulation is essential for reasons others have already mentioned. I do think it is a damn near impossible task at this point to try and remove them since there are so many already in circulation.
As for Ukraine, the difference there is that they had a fraction of the military nor the strategic deterrence capes that we have in the US. The only chance for them to succeed is to arm everyone. Do you think the US will ever be invaded on our own turf? We dont have to do away with guns altogether, but strict regulation is crucial, imho.
I don’t think I’m enlightened, I try hard to hear and weigh both sides of the argument. I was just offering my new perspective after living here as I used to be more in line with your viewpoints before coming here.
