Too soon?
I just got a determination from the state that an employee who filed a few weeks ago was awarded unemployment. He's currently a full time employee, averaging 36-ish hours a week, and has been for several months. Apparently people in MA can collect unemployment and earn a full-time paycheck at the same time. AFK, going to unemployment office so I can file too.

I don't know his particular situation but I believe you can get partial unemployment benefits if you take another job that pays less than your old job or your hours are cutback and you're not making as much before. If he's working an average of 36 hours a week and collecting full unemployment benefits then I need to move to MA too. Although it's hard to pass up my states lax unemployment laws, you can quit your job and still collect.
From the determination: "Due to your failure to provide sufficient information it cannot be established that the claimant left his work. Therefore the claimant is not subject to disqualification under the above-cited section of the law."
Well no shit, we can't prove he "left his work." He's still here every day. Morons.
