If you're a federal prosecutor and you can't find a smocking gun in the Russia investigation, then what do you do? You find something completely innocent, like the simple transaction of secretly paying off a porn star, and try to make a crime out of it. Trump previously explained that he didn't even know about the payments until after the election. How can he be guilty if he didn't even know about it?
