An observation I learned from elsewhere is that "good" tend to be eager to help. You ask someone good for help, they tend to just give it. You ask someone who's evil for help, there'll be hoops to jump through. Verification to make sure you really need the help, make sure that you're worthy to receive said help, and only then would evil reluctantly offer the requested help. This part is not that relevant to this whole political/racial clusterfuck, but it's neat to mull over.
What's more relevant to the whole dumpster fire discussion that was on the officials, though, it's that the reverse is true for punishment/harm. You tell someone good to harm or punish someone, they tend to be reluctant. Make you jump through hoops, make sure the intended victim really really deserve whatever shit that's proposed to go their way, and only then would they reluctantly dish out said harm. You tell someone evil that it's time to fuck someone up, they go for it with glee. No need to verify that the victim really deserves whatever harm that's tossed their way, they tend to start shit and dish out punishment/harm eagerly when the opportunity presents itself.
When I read through this whole thing on the officials, I noticed one side being very eager to dish out punishments. Slap nasty labels or worse on people who presented dissenting opinions and start flaming and sniping at them all nitty gritty. I noticed the other side mostly not doing that, and pretty much only sometimes flaming back when they have been flamed first.
No need to name specific names or point particular sides out, but who have you noticed during all this that was very eager to dish out punishments, slap labels on people and start flaming first chance they get? Which side seemed to have been doing it a lot more?
