It’s kinda like wild caught shrimp vs farm raised shrimp. Most people prefer wild caught if given the choice. People swear it tastes better. It is likely just psychological. There is a market for both.

There probably is some taste difference. A great example of this is eggs. Go to a farm and snag and egg from a nest and eat it. Then get eggs from the store. There is a difference for sure. Same with our goats milk versus I think it’s meyerburgs commercial goats milk. The commercial goats milk tastes like buck urine compared to straight from the doe

I haven’t tried goats milk since I was a kid. I remember thinking it tasted like piss. Perhaps I should give it another try.

There definitely is something to farm fresh eggs.

I have a buddy I haven’t seen in a couple years that lives on about 50 acres in Texas. He has goats for the agricultural tax exemption & because they eat all the thorny bush weeds that grow all over his land. Also he is Italian and I guess they like eating goats…. I watched him once slaughter and hang one, but I don’t know if he gets milk. I’ll have to ask him next time I see him.
