I'm still confused by the being allowed to make phone calls from boot camp part.

Biscuits and gravy are awesome, as such I'm becoming more awesome.

They can make calls after they pass battle stations, or if they are rewarded calls.

Sometimes you get liberty on the weekend or something and can make a phone call. David called twice from Parris Island, once during Christmas and once during a liberty weekend (Right before the crucible)

My communications in boot camp consisted of a letter that said my dog died. A second letter saying my grandpa died. A third letter that said hey me and your mom are getting divorced. It was like the country song of boot camp.
