Even if someone did it wouldn't help because some people are stuck in their outrage algorithms feeding their brains anger dopamine hits as fast as they can scroll their feeds.
I don't agree with everything republican Utah Governor Cox has said (praying who the shooter would or would not be) but I do agree with him that unregulated social media is steering us in a strange and dangerous direction. We really need to take a closer look at what the algorithms are doing to us. I think reexamining Section 230 to bring hard moderation back to social media and dropping anonymity on all platforms would be a step in the right direction.
Having said all that I don't think it's productive to point fingers at this side or that side that's stoking violence when it's the individuals perpetrating the crime's sole responsibility.
