My friend and I were still in AIT at the time. We didn't know we were not supposed to get BAS. Well, we both had been receiving it since day 1 all the same. One day, out of the blue, the Army goes, "You fucker! You're not supposed to get BAS. Guess what? Now we don't pay you for the next THREE MONTHS."

You should have explained to them that the meal card they gave you only works at the chow hall and that food wasn't going to sustain you so the BAS seemed right.

And I can top that! I took classes last summer and didn't get my BAS pay for FOUR months.

My point was that - why can't white people need money for college too? Aren't there affluent black people in this world, or are we just going to all be ignorant enough to believe that only whites have the possibility of financial prowess and only black and hispanic people have the ability to be poor.

Ethnic groups and "minority races" have scholarships that a white man cannot apply for. Why can't white men have a scholarship that "minorities" and women can't apply for

(the same goes for white women etc etc...)

Sorry, I guess I misread your original post. I thought you were complaining about a scholarship for white men.
