In a stunning moment Monday, McConnell appeared unaware of certain provisions in the proposal, signaling more haggling to come among lawmakers and the White House over what it includes.

When asked on camera by NBC News why money for an FBI headquarters in Washington is in a COVID-19 bill, he looked shocked and said “I’m not sure that it is, is it?” A nearby aide then confirmed to McConnell it was in the proposal.

Here is a great example of the liberal mindset.

I have a friend with a nephew who recently graduated from college and has started a job as a computer engineer. While in college he was living in a three bedroom apartment with two roommates. The lease expired in early June, so he gave notice in May that he didn't intend to renew his part of the lease. No problem, but shortly before he moved out one of his roommates found his employment offer letter, which stated his salary. The next day there was a major argument that he should pay the rent for his two roommates for the next lease term (12 months).

Why should he pay his roommates rent for the next year when he wasn't even going to be living in the apartment? Quote "Because you can" unquote.

He immediately moved his laptop and a few other items of value out of the apartment, and then moved out the next day. The former roommates are now threatening a lawsuit. On what legal grounds who knows.

There is no such thing as THE liberal mindset. This is an example of the mindset of a person who is liberal, but it doesn't mean that any other liberal would agree with it.

It's much the same as if you had said "here is an example of the black mindset." Sounds bad, right? Blanket statement with no room for exceptions. Indicative of close minded black and white thinking.

You could even instead say "here is an example of a liberal mindset" which is more realistic and accepting of the fact that you can't paint everyone with the same brush. But I think you meant it the way you said it. Because you edited it.

You might as well say your friend's nephew has a conservative mindset for refusing to pay them, that would be equally incorrect.

Really reaching posting this in the political facepalm thread. Pretty sure the other posts since yours though have pretty clearly explained how close minded this connection is that you've made, but I'll add to it, why not? I definitely wouldn't expect anyone to pay for my place to live. Hell, I helped my dad build a secondary house for my family when I was 20, and STILL paid rent while I lived there since he paid for the materials and it was his property.

Funniest thing about it all is, you have NO IDEA what those two other kids believe in politically I'd imagine. You've assumed things here based on a second (third?) hand story. I'd laugh my ass off to learn they said they were conservatives or some shit. You have no fucking clue. Not sure if a liberal mindset or not, but definitely an idiotic one. Reminds me of an interaction I had once a few years back.

I went to Indiana University for one of their Master's classes to test it out for potential future use by our personnel. While in the class the ages ranged from 20-24, then myself a bit older.

Sitting in the library one day doing a project with some people, somehow what car I owned came up.. I said what I owned, and a woman in the study group started complaining, asking "how is it fair you have that and I'm stuck working while going to school, can barely pay my bills, etc. etc. etc. and that the magical "someone/government" should help students like her"... I simply looked at her and said something to the effect of "well when you graduate, and work for the next 20 years, you too can buy yourself a nice car".

A simple interaction, but one that made me realize the level of entitlement that the younger generation currently feels they deserve. It's anecdotal of course, but I got that sense from many of the students that I interacted with during my few months there.

I think some people feel they deserve things they don't, but hopefully they will grow out of that mindset by 30? I think that mindset prevailed around 20-22 in the past, but seems it's been pushed back by a good 10 years or so.
