Stillfront isn't going to shut down DR or GS. They just invested a bunch of money a few years ago into buying a majority share of the game. They need to recover their investment. Their main page explains it all: https://www.stillfront.com/en/

I haven't figured out what Wyrom's actual skills are beyond making himself one hell of a whipping boy. His complete lack of PR skills don't do his "higher ups" or us any favors though.
As per usual, he's just gonna do whatever the fuck he wants to do and insult the intelligence of the players while defending his actions... until someone gives into the temptation to call him the dumbass he is so he can use it as an excuse to bring a halt to the conversation.

No idea how old or new those postings are, but it would appear they are indeed hiring web developers, designers and sys admins... so maybe they do intend to create a new forum.

It was always for leveraging their IP, not their consistent revenue streams. That was spelled out in their first annual report post acquisition.
I'd guess that they're waiting to verify that there is a continued need for the forums, identify the gaps in the process based on existing tools, and if necessary, then create new forums if they're finding things not to be working as well as expected.
Does anyone really care if they are shut down?
They were useless, over moderated and annoying to use.

The GS officials are fucking trash as hell, I'm fine with this. I happen to like discord but I also respect the point that it's impermanent. I think the combo of Wiki + discord they're going for will work in the end. It sounds like they plan to have a Wiki feature that permits people to post questions, so the sole means of feedback will not be discord (which would definitely be bad).
