That’s not true. Hehe
Unless you are talking about a specific situation such as 9/11. Then you are correct.

I don't know, but if they are that's kinda stupid... Attempted murder should be when you set out to do it.. the assault deadly charge like if you get in a fight and end up doing it.
there are different murder charges, and different manslaughter charges I would assume this would work the same.
Uh, yeah… anyways.
Pretty sure if you shoot someone(They live) or shoot at someone, it’s considered assault with a deadly weapon. If the intent was found to kill, both instances they would be charged with attempted murder. I don’t think being shot at, or being shot makes a difference if the victim lives, in the eyes of the law.
I don't think Methais was speaking about the perspective of the law, he was speaking about the perspective of the victim; there is a huge difference between being shot at and actually being shot.
Just like there is a huge difference if I punch you in the face and if I punch the air next to your face.
As far as the law, the main difference is intent; assault with a deadly weapon/aggravated assault doesn't necessarily mean the person intended to kill their victim, whereas attempted murder does. You can also be charged with both aggravated assault and attempted murder.
If Jim aims for Bob and shoots at him then it's pretty obvious Jim intended to kill Bob, but if Jim missed Bob and instead shot Larry then Jim didn't attempt to murder Larry, but he sure as hell did commit aggravated assault, and if Larry ended up dying then Jim also committed manslaughter and probably a bunch of other crimes.
