It varies. Some will make announcements. A lot of them will show up and do work after raffles they've put on. Most people obtain them at festivals/pay events.

If you have no life like me, you camp out for hours on end for a gown of awesomesauce or you get really lucky and picked via spinner for a deathly black vorporal claidhmore of win with runes that pulse with every beat of your heart.

Either way, there are guides posted on merchant whoring all over these boards so you could start looking for tips there.

New winter outfit! Just got the bliaut altered last night.

Dress: Richly saturated the hue of despanal, this satin gown is ruched across the front and back of the bodice. The appearance is as-such that it resembles the rippling rings formed when a stone is cast into water. The skirt is smooth and tailored to be worn snugly to hips, with the hem ending just above the knee. The low-cut square neckline is suspended by a dainty white diamond choker, which encircles the wearer's throat like a coiled snake.

I really liked the shoes and had to look up what dapanel was, totally fitting for Zuie.

I don't think I really am wearing anything all the special to the ball and a bit worried someone may wear the same jacket. (Damn off the shelf stuff)

The handle is formed from a slender length of wrought gold that forms the exact likeness of a tree trunk, bark grooves and all.

Slender and straight, this faintly glowing wood has been carved in bas-relief pinstriping along its entire length, which gently morphs into a fluted crown of meticulously carved feathers. Each groove provides a base for the rendering of a quill, which then splits off into the delicate vanes. No other adornment graces the piece, allowing the focus to be on the craftsmanship at its apex.

Fashioned from a base of rigid bleached white doeskin, this corset is sheathed in an innumerable amount of minute cabochon-like vaalin dots. Closer inspection reveals them to be of various sizes, like the random patterning of some reptilian beast. They have been buffed to a satin finish, giving its overall appearance the delicious look of white chocolate.

I'm kind of annoyed with the pants...but its all I've got, aside from a white pair. And I didn't want her to be ALL white. But...vaalin is pearlescent, like oil on water so its got those bluish/pinikish/greenish hues in it so what the hell.

And, while I didn't originally intend for the runestaff to appear as Belnia states in my signature, I still like it. :p

Thing is, with white, you can add anything you want and it all goes together mostly. I say you could have gone all white and threw a couple pieces of colored/vary colored items and it would have still looked fine.

She has a trio of mithglin hoops with bone-beaded raven feathers set along the slender tips of her pointed ears, a burning flame tattoo on her neck, and a stalking panther tattoo on her wrist.

She is wearing a silver crescent moon locket, a hooded ebony lace duster lined with silvery satin, a hip-length pale grey silk blouse bound with a rigidly boned silk corset, a scale-carved slender wristcuff, a set of slender silver finger-armor, a mithglin and leather archery kit, a moonstone-set dark ora case, some dark flowing silk pants, and some black spike-heeled boots.


wristcuff: Overlapping layers of scale-cut gems have been fit together to form this slender wristcuff, thin silver wires creating a web pattern that embraces the jewelry to hold it all together. Blood-hued despanal, stygian onyx, and near-black bloodjewels are set just so to create a marbled design that swirls sinuously to mimic the face of Lornon at its zenith. Etched beneath the cuff itself are the words, "My faith to the Faceless." in a flowing, looping script.

finger-armor: Slender pieces of neillo silver have been crafted to fit around the middle and forefinger of the hand, each segment buffed to a velvet sheen. Thin strips of pure sterling have been inlaid along the crevices, giving the dark jewelery a stunning contrast. Embraced at the knuckle of the middle piece is a single oval-shaped heliodor, the beautiful aureate hue of the stone off-set by the deeply etched Faendryl crest at its heart.

kit: Thin, smooth pieces of black mithglin are plated over stiffened darkly finished leather, each piece of the kit connected by waxed bowstring laced through brushed damascene grommets. Clasping the kit on either side are tiny nacre crescent moons, each one clipped carefully to the body. Adorning the lid are small slivers of radiant glowbark that fall into the design of a full grown glowbark tree, silver leaf inlay is placed along the edges to give it depth and more reality.

Totally in love with the wristcuff. I have something incredibly old that resembles Lornon. I have no idea where it is though. Hm.

The cuffs and hem of the pelisse have been inset with several firestones, and the lining of the garment is a richly saturated ruby red satin.

She is wearing a narrow choker of inverted triangular crimson and ebon firestone tiles, a dark sable mantle pinned with an oval chalcedony cameo, an ebon silk tunic fastened wrist to elbow with satin frog closures, a basque-waist corset of vertically striped scarlet satin and jet basilisk skin, a glass-pressed dandelion ring, some fitted grey suede pants fastened with onyx buttons, and a pair of black leather boots propped on tall skinny heels.

I know the ring seems out of place but that will now be something she'll never take off.

Carefully preserved between two small rounds of glass pane is a flattened puff of white. The edges have been sealed with a band of sterling, and soldered onto a ring of the same. The downy flower stands out under the glass in a bold fashion, allowing any who glimpse the ring to immediately recognize the whimsical bloom.

He is wearing an ebony leather tricorn, an unkempt leather frock coat, a web-coated leather harness, some six-in-one rolaren chainmail, a wide leather belt, an odd leather bag, some black linen pantaloons, and a pair of large cuffed leather boots.

Coat:
Matte black mithril buckles secure the coat up the front and down each sleeve, each slightly concave to lie flat against the coat's dark brown leather. Several rum stains and cigar burns cover the garment, while large portions of the coat are horribly water damaged. Twin dull obsidian clasps draw the high collar upright to frame the wearer's face.

hat:
The black leather hat is pliable, with softened seams and a flexible, tricornered shape. Save for the small embossed image of an angular serpent skull and crossbones stamped centrally on the hat's front, the expanse of dark leather is unadorned. The look is timeworn, but serviceable.

Boots:
The cuffed portion of the boots droop and sag, leaving them to hang lazily open while the rest of the footwear is securely fastened by blackened steel buckles. Soft ebon suede is cut to fashion the soles, which are stitched together with no potentially clicking tacks or metal pieces.

Runestaff: The many black ora scales upon this runestaff have been lacquered with a firestone sheen, while set in a fitting erratic fashion resembling a serpent's back, appearing almost life-like. A brilliant green glow peeks through the scales from the glowbark below, giving the runestaff a haunting contrast. Setting off the entire piece is a black diamond crown mounted on a sharply-cut piece of moonstone, that has been swirled with various grey hues alike as to Lornon's vertex.

Love the new runestaff. Love the fact that after rekindling the alter idea of the runestaff for months, I finally got it to where I wanted it.

Question.. Isn't glowbark blue.. not green.

The play.net docs don't give an color on the site. They really don't give many of the woods a color.

The leaves are blue, as you can see in the Illistim gardens but no word on the wood.

Yes, Tsalim thought the wood itself was blue as well, but it really isn't. I even asked GM Alyias, who did the alter at a Vaalor meeting, if it was blue or not and he said it was green. Although, the wood itself is green (Following what I see from the scripts in the Veythorne Manor), the wood's pretty much known to shimmer a bunch of other colors.

ring: Wrought from thin strands of silver twisted into a solid band, this ring has been crafted with a meticulous attention to detail. Two bits of darkened, scored silver shaped to resemble curved feathers cradle a circle of pale ivory, supporting it along the length of their vanes. Held in place by the sharp, sickle-like barbs, the ivory is protected rather than punctured. Imbedded within the circle are tiny shards of amethyst which outline the shape of a stylized gardenia in full bloom.

I think your overall outfit is a *wee* bit too much but its not unbearable. I'd probably ditch the pentagram ring and the spidersilk sack, but that's just me.

If I were a bard, I'd get 'a floating barrier of leafy purple turnips' for my sonic armor, and my sonic weapon would be an ethereal crimson hoe shimmering with crimson runes of farming.

I LOVE that gown.

I made something similar as a gift to a friend of mine with faenor scales..

a long scaled dark silk gown :: Fashioned from fluid lengths of darkly-hued silk, the gown falls from a high, key-hole neckline to a flowing, short train. Overlaying the entire piece are tiny faenor scales, each one cut and brushed to give the overall appearance a marbled ophidian design. Subtle boning forms the corset to fit the feminine form tightly, while thin black cords lace up the back from waist to neck.
