First off, the curfew explicitly said to stay out of PUBLIC areas, and made it pretty clear you were fine on your own property. There also were a number of other exceptions. So this group of high stepping cops comes marching through, and in about 5 seconds go from "get inside" to "light em up!" and start shooting at obvious home owners. They clearly didn't believe the people on the porch were doing anything wrong,, or they would have stopped. It was wrong. Fortunately no one was seriously hurt.

To me it's pretty simple. Your city has been burnt down by criminals, the police come to your hood and tell you to get inside. I'm probably going to take their advice.
