For real! I remember this little nerdy Asian guy at work attempted to educate me on cryptocurrency & told me to buy Bitcoin way back in like 2010. I should have listened. To this day, I’m still a little skeptical as it has no real intrinsic value. It’s a me thing on my comfort & risk tolerance, but I concede it’s a great opportunity for many. I’ve witnessed many become wealthy trading it.
Since I work in financial services I’m restricted and regulated on trading, so for non-retirement investing I’ve found my niche in real estate where I don’t have to ask mother-may-I preclearence for every little action.
Going on that point... Japan is one of the most successful examples of nation building. Germany was pretty damn good too. The difference between nation building after WW2, and what we do now and what they did in Vietnam, is that we had complete and utter surrender by the losing nation. We completely annihilated the Axis powers and their will to fight. They didn't have a fucking choice. We don't do that as much anymore because people complain that it is too destructive, even though the resulting insurgencies tend to be more destructive than if we just gave them total war in the first place.
That's racist.
I cant wait until they investigate Trump for market manipulation and open themselves up to investigation for the same.
The EU is eliminating tariffs on imported Chinese electric vehicles. As I predicted earlier, Trump's tariff war will boost the market share of BYD and other Chinese electric vehicles and decrease the market share of U.S. electric vehicles. You can't buy Chinese EVs in the US. Permitting Chinese EVs in the US might be the outcome of the tariff negotiations between Trump and China. Wouldn't that be something?
Since they're not available in the US, we have to rely on secondhand comparisons to US EVs. Here's a guy in Ireland reviewing one. He seems to like it.
If BYD were to ask my opinion, which they should, I would say get rid of the karaoke machines. We don't need that.
Both the US and China drive on the correct side of the road, unlike people in Europe. We should be able to find common ground.
