We know.

Wife and kids went to Costa Rica while I stay home and work/watch the farm. I have noticed in recent years that I get very depressed when they are gone. Will be an unfortunate 10 days without them.

I'm not sure whether your work on the farm allows it, but while they're gone, try to do something new that maybe you wouldn't have necessarily tried if they were around and you all were just going about your regular daily routine. Have you tried geocaching? Maybe go see a movie by yourself that your wife or kids wouldn't have wanted to go to. Try a new restaurant that your wife or kids probably wouldn't have wanted to try. But if the farm requires you to be there the entire time while they're gone, well then that does suck. I know it's missing them vs. not going on vacation that's the real issue, but if I had a choice for a vacation, I would 100% choose to work on a farm for a week vs. going to Costa Rica, and I've been to Costa Rica.

So we own the farm, I have a full-time job and then when I am off work take care of the farm. I think I may go see a movie like the Batman that could help. Thank you, wanted to just get it out there, express it. May ask a co-worker if they want to stop by and hang out a bit, might be nice to have some company.
