Right after the war kicked off, my wife donated a few hundred bucks so that some refugee mother and her two kids can stay the night at a hotel. My wife’s cousin is in Odesa, she runs an organization that takes donations and helps out families that have been displaced, or need money for food, clothing, etc etc. when you donate, she tells us what it’s going to be spent on(or you can tell her where you want the money to go), gives an itemized list of what was bought and cost, and videos/photos. She’s aware there’s a lot of scammers out there, so she tries her best to show that she’s not one of them.

When you see someone drowning do you make them fill out a questionnaire before you pull them out of the water? Ask exactly how they got there, if they have a job, do they plan on getting further education? What plans do they have for the rest of their life if you save them? No, you just pull them out.
