Going back to the topic. If he was carrying illegally he should be punished. Just because something happened doesn't change the fact that he was breaking the law. I would think the judge should give him lesser penalties.

Jesus and I agree. If he was doing something illegal he should be cited for that.

My firearms instructor summed it up best, you can survive anything but being dead, even prison. If he has to do time then so be it, but he is still breathing and the other guy is worm dirt.
