Character rename ceremony: Chivalrous becomes Ascelon. Thurs 9pm

Honestly I hope this doesn't set a precedent. Why? Because it'll be too damn confusing! "Who's that, I've never heard of him?" "Oh, well that's the guy who used to be Chivalrous, but now he's called Ascelon." "Oh, what about that guy?" "Remember so-and-so? Well he changed his name to..."

Pain. In The. Ass.

Now, if it's just Chiv, I'm ok with it, cause I can remember one. But beyond that, how the hell am I supposed to remember who's who?

That said, if you've been trying for years to not be an adjective and you've finally succeeded, congratulations.

The truth is a lot simpler than that, but I'll leave it to Drew to reveal.

I think it's pretty lame. You should have to reroll to rename a char, like like everyone else.

It should have been an option forever ago.

Yeah, not to sound like a dick but there are a shitload of people who would love this option and I've been told multiple times by GMs this isn't something they ever offer.

Hell, I've got a whole stable of fucking characters I'd love to rename. Might've been a bad idea to let this cat out of the bag, now everyone (including myself) will want to know how they can get in on the sweet name changing bandwagon.

Who the fuck is Chivalrous?

This sets one hell of a precedent, considering how vehemently staff have insisted - forever - that this would not be done.

Far simpler explanation: he's handwaving and it's really a separate character that he's stealth-played up until now, and the actual Chivalrous character will be gone, replaced with this new one.

It expects others to go along with it. Possibly a tall order, but not impossible.
