Wait, is it no longer the Republican mantra to Buy US and to support American taxpayers? I must've fallen asleep and missed something of Republicans are now blatantly criticising the creation of domestic jobs. Yes, they're union jobs, yes the rebates are a federal subsidy to offset the lack of competitiveness in labor costs versus overseas baby mills. But those employees in Bangladesh don't pay taxes, nor do jobs overseas keep Americans employed.

While you're at it please also continue to ignore the "union labor" part of the bill too.

I'm all for encouraging people to buy more shit made in the good ol' US of A. But if I actually thought for a single moment that we were all gonna die unless we all bought an electric vehicle I would want the government to encourage people to buy any electric vehicle, regardless of where it was made or if it was made via union labor or not.

If the reason for the rebate is to get more people into electric cars and to save the planet from climate change.. then putting restrictions on it makes it look like that is just a secondary or tertiary benefit.

Where precisely did the big mean union organizer destroy your innocence and strangle your first childhood dreams? Do you honestly /hate/ unions that much that you think represented Americans are antithetical to good business? Unions guarantee fair wages, benefits and prevent the rare employer abuses.
