This is a terrible decision for Trump. The appellate court confirmed that Trump engaged in intentional fraudulent behavior. The appellate court disagreed with the computation of damages. Unless this decision is overturned by a higher appeals court, the finding of wrongdoing against Trump and his co-defendants will remain in place, and a new trial may be required to determine the correct amount for him to pay.
The appellate court specifically agreed that there were "ample bases to find that defendants would continue to engage in fraudulent and illegal activity" and, therefore, kept in place the monitor watching the Trump company to prevent continued future malfeasance.
Things are really going badly for Trump.
