No, no Latrin, just a crazy fucked up lucid nightmare involving a riverside cabin in the woods, swarming alligators, demonic possession, zombies and a surprise visit by Cthulhu himself. Every time I tried to wake up the dream would only reset and play out again in a slightly different direction. After like 20 resets I started wondering if maybe I had somehow slipped into a coma or something and that's why I couldn't wake.
Frown at the long wait ahead with the justice system.
Truncated version:
SO and I were moving into our new house.
Hired movers for the big/heavy furniture.
One mover was left alone for too long in the master bedroom and broke into the safe in walk-in closet (discovered/realized a few hours later after they had left)
Police called/etc .. filed statements (we had all the information, including suspect's name)
Detective ID'd SO's engagement ring and necklace via pawnshop disclosure (the thief pawned them mere hours after leaving)
The next day, SO and I went to pawnshop to buy them back for $150 (price pawnshop paid out, apparently this is how they make good money)
Subsequently went to jewelry to confirm that the diamond (still) has the same id#.
Detective worked out confession from perp ... but perp denies anything to do with my dad's gold watch which is still missing (the pawnshop acknowledged him attempting to sell the watch too, but they did not buy because they do not deal in watches).
Detective indicated that it will probably be 2-3 weeks for warrant/etc and then the case will advance again.
Apparently perp has a long rap sheet that includes armed robbery.
Why risk jail/etc for a lousy $150? Would had that if moving process took another 2 hours itself.
Detective said we were lucky that the pawnshop does not know how to appraise a five-digit ring, or it would had been more than $150.
Chance of being reimbursed the $150 if prosecutor fines/etc the moving company itself.
Home insurance will not be of much help, only the ring was specifically insured, the deductible & future premium increase would not be enough to offset $150 reimbursement that way or for watch.
Looking into suing the moving company...
Moving company not interested in reimbursing, and is being difficult with a furniture piece that was damaged during the moving.
Owner limited self to expressing sympathy and 'at least the thief was stupid'
Oh yea, the thief was black.
I dislike funerals and church functions, and I miss my grandma.
Online continuing education course on municipal bonds. Please someone blow my brains out and put me out of my misery.
Damn.

The Batmobile pulled into a gas station Sunday night and, as usual, the children who spotted it gawked.
Lenny B. Robinson was used to that. The Maryland man, better known as the Route 29 Batman, had for years dressed as the Caped Crusader and driven his custom-made car to deliver moments of happiness and distraction to hundreds of sick children at area hospitals.
His costume stored in the Batmobile but his alter ego never entirely switched off, Robinson gave the kids at the gas station some superhero paraphernalia before driving off.
Minutes later, Robinson pulled over with engine trouble on an unlit stretch of Interstate 70 near Hagerstown, Md., police said. The people he had just met parked behind him, turning their emergency lights on.
His car was stopped in the median but still “partially in the fast lane” when he got out to check the engine, according to state police. Around 10:30 p.m., a Toyota Camry slammed into the Batmobile, propelling the steel-framed hunk of black metal into his body. Robinson, 51, died at the scene. His funeral is scheduled for Wednesday in Owings Mill, Md.
Someone stole the registration sticker off my license, so I have to go to DMV today.
Fuck
My dad broke his femur. Stupid knee doctor recently told him his knee implant/connection was fine. Surgery yesterday was basically rebuilding half his leg. He's prone to bloodclots. Will be a week in a hospital, months in a rehab hospital, and he's a giant pain wimp, and won't want to do the rehab. His wife doesn't want me to visit him, because she wants to be the one taking care of him, and she has her family around to help out. Her daughters want me to visit, because they don't sound at all like they're on board to help her out.
It's bad enough dealing with a failing parent, the freaking wife just adds another layer of bullshit to deal with. I'm not going to let the guy sit alone in a hospital for months, even if I have to drive to Kansas and spend a few months at a motel near the rehab hospital.

According to new research, the administration of the non-psychotropic component cannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD) in marijuana significantly helps heal bone fractures. The study, conducted on rats with mid-femoral fractures, found that CBD - even when isolated from the major psychoactive component of cannabis - markedly enhanced the healing process of the femora after just eight weeks.
