Judge says Trump can't change his lawyers for the census question trial.

Let that sink in for a minute. A sitting judge who is hearing the case says a litigant can't choose his own lawyers to represent him in court. Oh the judge is an Obama judge.

They apparently have to have a "legitimate" reason to change them. I'd think "Because we want different lawyers" should be legitimate enough, but ok.

Yeah it's bullshit. From what I understand judges usually sign off on lawyer changes at almost a 100% rate because what's the problem? The only reason a judge might decline a request is if the change might delay the trial but that seems like bullshit in this case.

Also the supreme court basically said to try again but come up with a different reason for why Trump wants the citizenship question on the census. This seems like a perfect reason for wanting to bring in a fresh set of lawyers.

I was thinking they should change it to "Are you eligible to vote in US Elections" but some states allow non-citizens and it would also count out children who are citizens.
