Vet says the dog will likely be fine. Apparently, dogs having bloody poop isn't all that uncommon and isn't necessarily as dire a warning as it is in people. His behavior and appetite didn't change and she says it's a good sign he was frequently needing to go and straining a bit as it means the placement of the problem isn't problematic. A few pills, a regimented diet (boiled chicken and rice) and he should be on the mend.

Yeah, pretty lame. He was in his late 50's sure but he was a fairly active and healthy person. Sucks to have something sneak up on you like that.

I mashed my knuckle real well today. It's swollen and it goes numb at times.
