Fuuuuck that. Last time someone I knew used Craigslist they wound up getting mugged.

I've only had one bad experience from craigslist but there was no mugging involved.

Bad shit can happen no matter what. It isn't a common occurrence at all though. I know someone that used to pick up crappy furniture, redo it, and sell it on Craigslist. They never got mugged one time.

I was thinking of a two-birds-one-stone sort of approach. Smash the cans with spiders inside. You'll have less storage area taken up AND have dead, splatter-contained spiders.
