My original intent was to make this for my parents for Christmas. Clearly I'm slacking. Their front entryway is really nice but they put up this ghetto-ass baby gate held together with duct tape to keep the dog and my son from escaping when they have the front door open. For them to have such a nice house and this set up didn't make sense to me so I made this for him. Its about three quarters finished. I have two more grape clusters to make and then it needs to be sandblasted and patina applied. It should have an oil-rubbed bronze look when done. Each and every scroll has been hand forged out. In fact, every piece on there started as a straight rod. I'm on my way to Popeye arms soon!

Beautiful design but it looks like it has some pretty sharp edges to be a baby gate.
Wellll...it was originally designed as a baby gate. That was back before he was even born. (Sadly this is how long I had this planned out) He's about walking now and sticks to the backyard. So I guess now its just for their old, nearly deaf paranoid dog. But I do see where you're coming from. That bitch will take an eye out!
