Just found out I missed an assignment for psych. Screwed :(
I had my car nicely centered in the space in the parking deck, so theoretically I could get back into my car at the end of the day while leaving enough space on the other side of the car (where my passenger side door is, that I don't need for just me) so the person who parked on that side could also get into their car without trouble. Got to my car and found out some fucker with a Honda Fit (nice, small car meant for city driving and parking) parked so close to my driver side there was no way in hell I could get into my car, and being 36 weeks pregnant, forget climbing over from the passenger side (besides, I tried a few weeks ago the first time this happened, with some other moron blocking me from getting into my car).
Since I work for a hospital attached to a university, I called campus police to come help me. After 45 minutes, two officers finally show up, say the best they can do is get in the car and back it out for me, which fine, whatever, at this point I just want to go home. The female opens the driver side door, makes the comment that even NOT being practically 9 months pregnant she can't squeeze in (and she wasn't that big a woman, either!), and prepares to climb over from the passenger side. That's when the other car's driver shows up, confused look on his face about the 2 cops in such proximity to his car, and just goes "Oh dur, sorry" when they ask him to pull out so I can finally get into my vehicle. He's lucky I didn't think the cops would take so long to show up--I was getting really tempted to let the air out of his tires--and that I can't wear heels, so my flats barely left a mark when I kicked his car when I first saw what happened.
This is the 3rd time in a month something like this has happened to me, too... so fuck it. I'm going to start grabbing one of the spaces marked for expectant/new mothers (because that's what I am, dammit!), or park so I've got as much space as possible on the driver's side without actually double-parking, even if it means being an asshole and making it difficult for someone else to park. I've got 2 1/2 weeks left of work before my maternity leave starts, dammit, and I'm not going through this again.
Waking up to find your cat has somehow managed to swallow (and then proceed to throw up) a 6" string. Your water heater has shit the bed, forcing you to take a cold shower in a house that's down to 62 degrees. Getting to work only to find out the pipes/vent are still full of shit (literally and figuratively) from the flood and the office smells like a sewerage plant.
I should have stayed in bed today.
Boss called this morning and said my Afghanistan trip has been postponed for at least 2 weeks. I was expecting to leave tomorrow. This is like the eighth time it's been changed, and it fucked up potential trade deals on my EG finds!
My son just stuck a hand into his diaper... long story short, he tasted his own poop, and decided to try for a second taste.
