Hate is probably a bit extreme. I'll go with intense dislike. As for myself I also wouldn't give two shits. Having almost bled out before, via a ruptured blood vessel in my throat, has made me fairly indifferent in regards to own mortality. My son on the other hand.. sure. I would not want him to ever suffer.

I do not think you or Ker_Thwap understand. There are a good # of dogs that contribute more to society than people.

(nevermind that dogs can be judged to be more 'sentient' in general than livestock species like cows/pigs ... have you ever encountered one of the later capable of unconditional love?)

Pigs can actually be quite affectionate, and are in many ways more intelligent than dogs.

I don't know why you included me in this statement. All I'm said was that everyone will have a different opinion based on reasons. I'm not advocating for or against animal research.

What the heck? How is what I asked disingenuous? Methais is okay with food animals but not medical animals, and one of the reasons he gave was waste disposal. I asked what happens to the waste of food animals (that is, those portions that don't go to their purpose) explicitly saying that I didn't know the answer. You gave the answer, I asked if addressing one of Methais' concerns would satisfy him. Where's the disingenuity? The conversations you must have, sheesh.

You're welcome to try and pass a Constitutional Amendment giving Eighth Amendment rights on the basis of contribution to society. Until then, that's how "that shit" is legal and prisoner testing is illegal.
