Notre Dame in Paris is burning, the roof and one of the spires has collapsed.

Weird thing is of all of the videos and pictures I have seen of the fire I didn't see one any water or helicopters dropping shit on the building or anything. It almost looks like they just let it burn.

No idea if the fire was just too large to do anything about it by the time they got there or the logistics to fight the blaze was too complicated or what. But whenever I see videos of a building on fire it seems like they emergency services are doing their best to put the fire out or at least contain it. Not here though.

Maybe they think the fire will burn itself out, or dumping water from a plane on a thousand year old cathedral will cause even more damage. If only t4f were here with her doctorate in fire science, all I have to go on is watching Backdraft once like 30 years ago.
