I don't know if it's standard for cones but, the one I bought from Pet Smart has slits in the plastic near the neck opening. If you loop a string and tie it to the dog's collar it secures the cone. I put a string through three slits and the cone is solid. It doesn't budge and believe me, my dog has tried everything to get it off.Quote:

Now we just have to put up with him bashing into our legs with the cone repeatedly. It's almost like he's punishing us.
"KittyGirl" has a growing lump over her eye and the vet said she's too old to survive the operation to have it removed. At least she's not in any pain from it.. but it's growing.
