One time one of the ABPs at some random checkpoint offered me some local dip. I didn't know, but it had opium mixed in it. Fucked me up the rest of the day. Good thing there are no piss tests in the wasteland.

Not on my ship. That whole Maersk Alabama pirate thing happened when I was out there. Captain Phillips and the pirate was flown to one of our ships (USS Boxer). We pulled up along side the Maersk Alabama to get the Marines we put on it after the incident.

Only time I saw media was when I was on a MiTT in Iraq and the BBC interviewed a couple of our officers.

A scamming telemarketer called today and used the caller ID of a friend. I was not happy about it and used every four letter word I could think of to describe the caller and his family. It made no difference - he just kept on with his script. Should have just hung up the phone when I realized it was a scam call.
