At least I don't wish people dead because I disagree with their politics. So by that measure alone I am a million times better a person than you are.

Absolutely it is. Its stated mission: Black Lives Matter (BLM) is a decentralized political and social movement advocating for non-violent civil disobedience in protest against incidents of police brutality and all racially motivated violence against black people.

Anyone acting violently is not acting in their stated mission and thus are not connected with BLM.
