Been having a few days of 'if it can go wrong, it will.". My latest frustration: My husband accidentally (even after reminding him 3 times) forgot to leave the second GPS with me for when I return home. I requested him to mail it to me priority and with insurance, since it was $170 GPS. Well, he sent it priority, didn't get insurance. I leave in three days and the last tracking updated to it was that it was 'out for delivery' on the 9th, followed up with "Delivery status not updated" and never delivered.
Maps, how do they work?
People still buy stand-alone GPS? Figured everyone just used their phone.
I use my phone for directions to the nearest Rand Mcnally store.
Mapquest.com, for those rare times when your phone doesn't want to connect to its GPS server.
I use a stand alone GPS. The screen is bigger and 99% of the time it doesn't lose satellite like a phone does. But then again, I also have a Thomas Brothers Guide from like 1999.
I recommend Google or Yahoo Maps over Mapquest for older school directions.
Look at these city slickers with their "maps".
Just hitchhike! You're a pretty lady, I don't see what could possibly go wrong.
Yay another collision avoided because apparently I'm the only one who pays attention while driving where I live!
This lady pulls out of a parking lot and drives along in the center turn lane but she has her left turn signal on so I figure this is on purpose, she wants to turn left at the light. So she's stopped at the light for a good 4 or 5 seconds before I'm just about to drive along side her in the lane that is going straight when she suddenly decides no, she wants in my lane. It wasn't like she pulled out right in front of me, she was merging into my lane with me presently in the space she wants to occupy. I quickly swerve into the lane next to me (which could have ended badly if someone was there too but I took the chance because I knew slamming on my brakes or doing nothing was going to result in a collision) and I'm laying into the horn to get the lady's attention and I look over at her and she's not even looking in my direction! She literally just pulled into my lane without looking and didn't even glance in my direction as I'm honking my horn at her.
I'm just thankful the roads weren't nearly as slippery and icy as they were last week.
