It’s completely different this time. McCarthy spent a lot of his time building relationships and helping others. Jordan, on the other hand has been destroying relationships. On top of that each round of voting McCarthy gained votes so far, Jim Jordan is losing votes.
We’ll see. I’m thinking they are going to temporarily expand McHenry’s powers to get through the budget. That will give Republicans enough time to resolve their in-fighting. Jim Jordan is the Speaker that House Democrats deserve after stabbing McCarthy in the back.
By Democrats, you mean Gaetz and the republicans that kicked him out?
Jim Jordan isn’t the speaker the country deserves or needs.
I like how every Republican blames the Democrats for their own party, removing the speaker. It’s like what? The Democrats were willing to help McCarthy if he made some concessions and he refused to make any. That’s on him. Don’t blame the democrats for your parties dysfunction.
And stabbing McCarthy in the back? He worked with the democrats a grand total of ONE fucking time. You act like because of that the democrats owe him something, when he’s NEVER worked with them before. I’m sorry, but that’s hilarious.
The only reason McCarthy worked with the Democrats is because he knows a shut down would have made him and his party look more fucking awful and dysfunctional, than they already do and they would have taken the blame. He did it for his own party not for the Democrats.
Because remember, it was his party that couldn’t even work together to come up with their own budget to stop the shutdown. Remember you guys have the majority you don’t need the Democrats. So stop blaming the Democrats for your parties failures.
I just don’t understand why zero Republicans can take any accountability for their own fuck ups. They always have to blame someone else.
Oh I don’t deny there is serious dysfunction in the Republican Party. It’s been that way, particularly in the House, for decades.
I won’t rehash the whole thing, but Democrats were happy to work with McCarthy to prevent a shutdown. As a direct result of that bipartisan effort, Gaetz and crew took it to a vote to remove him. The same Democrats voted to remove McCarthy. That’s why I say they stabbed him in the back.
As I said before, whoever gets it next is not going to be so inclined to reach across the aisle to prevent a shutdown after what happened to McCarthy.
