When it works, it works pretty great. Their customer service is nonexistent, though, so good luck getting it fixed in a timely fashion when it does break.

I've never had any complaints with Comcast. In fact a couple of months ago they sent me a letter saying they upgraded the internet speed in my area but since I had such an old modem of theirs it couldn't take advantage of the increased speed so I could request a new one if I wanted. So I got a new modem that also acts as a wireless router and the speed increase was about 25% or 30% if I recall.
Yeah, I've been on the phone with Time Warner about 3 times on hold trying to get to a cancelation rep, and no one ever answers and they're always busy. I don't know how to disconnect if they won't fucking answer!
Any thoughts? I wonder if I can go to a stand alone store of theirs and cancel in store.
I have had Comcast for years and I have mostly zero complaints. They're expensive when your promotion ends, but if you call before then and specifically ask to speak to the customer solutions department, they will generally be able to put you on another promotion to save you money (they aren't the sales people you generally reach when you call, who have access to shit for deals). I haven't paid their full price in the 5 or so years I've had cable service with them.
I've also had to call customer service a few times and each time they've been incredibly helpful (including the two most recent times in regard to my move, and once to ask a technical question on one of my boxes). They give you a 2 hour appointment window instead of all day like it used to be, and they are prompt and friendly. Also, I find that I almost never lose service.
So yeah, I like Comcast.
Yeah, what is that fee? $3 a month or something ridiculous? I think I paid $40 for my modem years and years ago heh.
It's currently $7/mo.
