They probably should have, I kept telling them Trump would win and he did. I kept telling them that the ACA would make costs skyrocket and it did.

Pretty sure it was the opposite. IIRC, it wasn't listed as a "tax" in the bill itself. Then during the SCOTUS hearing Kennedy decided that it was a tax and green lighted it.
