Believe it or not, I actually have far more faith in your ability to critically engage with information than I do the other conservative posters here. I didn't choose you because I think you're the most hopeless. On the contrary. I think there's enough of you that understands what Trump has done is beyond reckless and is completely illegal.

My real point here is that NOTHING anyone says about what Clinton did or didn't do or what the DoJ did or didn't do about Clinton, Biden or Pence in any way affects what Trump actually did and how we should handle it.

Trump's superpower is his ability to turn his obsession with what he thinks is best for him into a contagion.

When we see a former President stealing hundreds of classified documents, including some of the most sensitive information with the highest likelihood to GENUINELY put our nation at risk, sharing them with people who have no legal right to be anywhere near them, storing them in boxes in public areas where thousands of people come in and out., hiding them from the Federal government, making false statements to Courts and the Feds about what he's holding on to and trying to force people around him to hide or destroy those documents instead of returning them to where they belong *which is in the best interest of our national security*, if our FIRST thought is "But are we being fair to HIM" and not "are we protecting our country"...then there's a problem.


What I'm getting at here is the way to tell if we've fallen into the cult worship of Trump is to ask ourselves: were we worried about our country's national security first or what was best for one man?

SP, in all honesty here- Trump has actually been treated with far more leniency than Clinton and Pence. The investigation into Biden isn't over yet, so we can't actually make any comparison yet.

Pence wasn't prosecuted because it was clear Pence never intended to steal classified information and hide it from the Federal government.

It's worth pointing out that Biden's team was never informed there was any missing classified info by the National Archives, and he never refused to return it. Biden requested his team search for any classified info, they found a small cache of it and it was returned the next day to the Archives.

That's also why Clinton was never prosecuted. The Republican head of the FBI (who investigated Clinton's handling of classified information) explicitly said they never found any evidence that Clinton was willfully trying to mishandle classified information nor that she ever tried to hide it from the Federal government or obstruct justice.

Now to be 1000% clear- Trump WAS ABSOLUTELY, WILLFULLY STEALING AND HIDING CLASSIFIED INFORMATION FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. But they still didn't prosecute him for anything he actually returned, even though he spent a year and a half refusing to return it.

He was actually given leeway neither Clinton nor Pence (nor anyone else as far as anyone knows) has ever been given. The DoJ historically doesn't go after people who made an honest mistake. They go after people who intentionally stole and/or willfully retained and hid classified info (or information that jeopardizes our national security) from the Federal Government. That's what Trump was doing from Day 1, and he still got a pass for most of it.

There is a two tier system going on- Trump got away with things no one else ever gets away with. And arguing he should have gotten away with more- that's an even more blatant embrace of a two tier system.

Pence shouldn't have been prosecuted. He did the responsible thing and asked his team to go search for any classified info that may have been missed. After they found some sealed boxes with classified info mixed in, he asked them to do a second search on other properties. And he returned it all immediately.

Same with Biden. He asked his team to go looking for anything that might have been missed, and when a small cache was found they made sure it was returned to the National Archives the next day.

And neither had been informed by the National Archives that there was any info missing. As far as they knew, everything had been returned.

DoJ doesn't prosecute people who have made honest mistakes and immediately returned anything they found.
