Official forums shutting down.

that's why I and probably others think it's a bad idea.. Dreaven is right it could be slow for days.. and Blow up one afternoon when 5 buddies start chatting. I kinda get that they couldn't do that in the announcement folder... but it's discord not a forum.. I tend to clear out messages that dont pertain to anything I care about to make the notifcations stop. I didnt like the officials and havent been there since i was in highschool in 2000.. but i've never really had anything to say on discord either. imho to make this work even half way decently they'd need to make the wiki easier to navigate and pin a lot of posts on the discord.. which takes a person to do... rather than a forum that anyone could read in their down time

They should just litter flyers all over the landing with information on new game mechanics. I could keep them in my backpack on one of my alt, and look things up that way. There would be trash heaps of discarded flyers all over the landing, perfect

Yeah Discord is horrible for relaying important changes. Just looking at the general-announcements channel makes my eyes bleed. There isn't any sort of order or categories or anything that would make slogging through the announcements easier, instead it's just a bunch of words and links to a soon-to-be-discontinued forum.

The officials were for sure a mess, but at least you had a place to discuss official changes to the game and you could read all of the related posts and not just a bunch of random chats from people in a real time chat room.

The wiki is great if you want to look up information on a subject you already know about, but it's not a place for discussion and it's kind of mess for showing recent changes.

I don't know why they are closing down the officials without having a new forum ready to go. Seems like a bad decision in a long line of bad decisions these past few years.

The drama left because most people "play" GS via scripts and roleplaying is basically non-existent.

You turn on the game, start a script and watch youtube on the other monitor.

Not much drama in that unless you miss a script check.. OMG THEN IT'S NOT FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

Actually I kind of love this idea

Lol, GS is fine and seems healthier to me lately, population wise, than it did the last time I played. The development has also been nice.

Of course the PTW crap is disgustingly bad. But I try to look on the bright side even with that BS - At least it helps ensure the game will keep going on, since those people aren't going to want to quit any time soon after dropping that kind of cash into it.
