Dual lengths of lightweight linen have been lined with a thin layer of golden silk to provide for a striking color contrast in this garment. Designed to wrap tightly around the chest, the colors of the fabric vary from a dark russet to the hue of a golden sunset. A circular clasp has been fashioned from a polished sunstone and is used to secure the garment at the back in a gathered knot.

loincloth:
Lengths of dark russet silk are belted by folded golden silk with a trio of copper scales fashioned into a multi-layered crescent adorning the front. Amber beaded strands of gold cording drape between the front and back panels of the loincloth, and dangling golden amber beads alternate with a half-inch golden silk fringe around the hem.

The rest is off the shelf stuff.

The hairsticks, the cloak, and the ring are all altered.

This is the show on the ring, it's a poison holder.
Delicately crafted from pure crimson eahnor, the band of this small ring is shaped to look like a serpent's body, complete with scale etchings. The body makes a complete loop connecting at the top to a viper head rising up onto the face of the ring, protruding out with its maw wide open and fangs extended to appear as if piercing a small, blooming rose cameo. Two tiny, glittering pieces of despanel are set as eyes for the head, as well as a tiny shard at the end of one fang, imitating a poisonous droplet.

Everything else is off-the-shelf (mostly from Anfelt) and the kit holds Issi's throwing daggers.

You look closely at Jolena, examining a wispy cyan chiffon blouse. A layer of translucent cyan chiffon has been custom-made to fall in an unfettered design for this hip-length blouse. The long sleeves have been embroidered along the seams which are designed to rest upon the middle of the hand delicately in a strobilated fashion. Three small silk-covered oval clasps are placed evenly from the deeply plunged neckline to the lace-edged hem. A thin panel of ivory silk has been sewn from the bottom left point of the neckline to the right for added color.

You look closely at Jolena, examining an ankle-length layered ivory skirt. Dual layers of ivory silk fall in overlapping folds in a zigzagged design, with several knee-length slits at the hem for ease of movement. Cyan-dyed satin lines the inside of the outer layer of silk to add a flare of color and the low-slung waistline is secured with a small silver rose-shaped clasp. Designed to fit closely upon the hips and thighs, the skirt flares from the knees to hem when worn.

You look closely at Jolena, examining some braided ivory silk sandals. Lengths of ivory silk are braided together and criss-crossed over each other for the footwear, while leaving a single silk loop for the toe. Thin soles of sanded mistwood are covered in a layer of the same silk for padding and comfort, and the low-heel offers a subtle accent to the ankle of the wearer.

And just cause I love this ring and haven't shown it in a long time:
You look closely at Jolena, examining a ruby red eahnor wedding ring. Expertly wrought, the band of this ring is molded to resemble a leaf-like pattern in all the hues of an autumn sunset. Tapping into almost every shade to be found in a flame, from the deepest crimson to the fairest orange, each delicate leaf has been shaded and highlighted with meticulous care. The fiery display winds its way up to a flawless white moonstone, melding itself perfectly into the band as though the ice-like stone supports, rather than battles, the fiery band.

Hairbeads:
Each bead is a smooth sphere of eahnor, polished to a near mirror shine. The beads cycle through a wide range of red hues, from orange tints and brilliant scarlet to deep burgundy.

Finger-talons:
The talons are designed to fit snugly over each and every finger, cunningly segmented and jointed to preserve ease of movement. Cast in dark sanguine eahnor, elaborate etched swirls coruscate sinuously across the surface of the metal. The sharp, faintly curved tip of each talon is blackened tellingly.

Forgot to add that the robes are the armor-concealing type.

Here's my empath in plat who is a deserter of the Imperial army, a worshipper of the Ur-Daemon, and swings a really mean stick. I intend on differentiating the cape and gauntlets from my paladin's in prime at some point. I was tired when the alterer stopped by and couldn't come up with any better ideas.

Necklet:
Each of the many thumbnail-sized garnets glitters like a drop of fresh blood held in a sharp-taloned setting of red-gold. The necklet is designed to hang close to the base of the wearer's throat, ringing it completely around with jewels before fastening in the back with a simple hook-and-eye clasp.

It's hard to organize every outfit around the snake, I've found, so I let it go occasionally. This is one of those times. Of course, she would not dream of leaving Sinsuviel at home now that she's found him.

I love hot sylvan clothes.

A small silver tag affixed to the inner lining reads, "A Zrenigotham Creation."

Mmm...not exactly. Women wear it long like a dress, and men will wear it cut above the thigh like a jacket sorta. Dex has a website that shows what stuff looks like, its in her signature if ya look.

A cotehardie was made to be worn by a male and a female, and the styles of the garment were different for each, even if subtly. So yes, it is a form of a dress, however for the genre that GSIV is based in, a male wearing a cotehardie is very fitting.

Ring:
Pale ivory coraesine shot through with graceful flowing grey lines forms a thin filigree band. Set in one filigree curl is a glittering bloodjewel, dark and red as its namesake, with a fine carving in its faceted surface. The intaglio is a dainty rose in full bloom engulfed in stylized flames.

Earrings:
Crafted of glimmering bloodjewels, the earrings are swept with jagged, angular patterns of black steel, the intricate setting tracing a labyrinthine pattern across the flawless scarlet facets of the jewel. Encased within the very heart of the jewel is a single rose petal, its pure ivory hues stained a deep crimson by the innumerable incarnadine facets of the bloodjewel.

Case:
The heavy set folio is bound at the spine with a thin length of pale silvery haon, supporting the shape. Dark carmine silk is attached and folded over the cover and back of the case; tiny white vaalorn rivulets keeping the smooth material in place. The center of the cover is painted with ivory ink depicting an exquisitely detailed hawthorn blossom. A wreathe of oval leaves encompasses the flower, their shape appearing almost like veined teardrops.

Ring (was a present from the greatest cousin in Nalfein history and it's awesomely actioned!):
The smoothly carved ivory band sends pallid vine-like tendrils curling over the edges of the bloodjewel rose, impaling the bloom with minute, sharp thorns. Translucent red at the edge of each perfectly realized petal, the bloodjewel's hue darkens to near-black at the heart of the rose, contrasting sharply against the creamy white of the ivory setting. True to its name, the jewel glistens like a drop of blood, vividly realistic in aspect.

I really love the earrings and folio. That ring is very nice as well, but the other two are my favorites. Makes me almost wish Jolena went back to her crimson and ivory days.

I really like the contrasts with the ivory and reds, Uniana. The outfit works well.

Outfit for tomorrow! The hairsticks and case are new. The case is supposed to be like a high fashion clutch sort of thing. The shows on the stole and bangle have been shown already, I think.

An interlocking circle of silver filigree clasps the case shut at the top, hiding a lining of exceptionally plush black velvet. A line of matching silver hooks serves to attach the whole to a belt.

I was and then I moved in with my boyfriend. For the next three weeks I have to live with him and his parents. Until our apartment gets done.

Anybody who has EVER, EVER had to live with their SO's parents, knows that there needs to be some sort of escape, haha. This pelisse has been fashioned from fine black foxfur that has been treated to give it a rich sheen. The inside of the robes have been lined with deep ruched silk. Cut to be long on the arms, the deep sleeves are pulled low enough to cover the wrist of most wearers. At the neck of the pelisse sits a fine vaalin clasp cut in the image of a small fox that has eyes made of fine marquis-cut deep crimson garnet.

I love that outfit.. my only suggestion for a fix is the slippers.. with so much garnet, diamond is almost random. Black or silver slippers would look good though!

Yeah I thought of that too, both the slippers and the too much garnet. If it was say.. a black skirt? And the slippers, that'd look good. Or a black bodice. Just one less garnet piece elsewhere.

I think the jasmine woven in the hair and the flower behind the ear is a bit much, too. That's just my opinion though.

That's the only reason I hate pin worn items.

Good news is that once you get it sorted how you want it, you can just do a SORT AUTO REVERSE when you log in and are upside down. That keeps it just as it was when you set it up, instead of rearranging it with the stupid pinworns all over the place. (Hates pinworns too due to sorting)

I would remove the feather and at least one of the bracelets. If you are going to incorporate the azure leather gloves, then I would try to incorporate something similar to the hue elsewhere in your outfit as well. I like the robe, I have one myself, but I think that you are missing the ability to do something really striking with the outfit, by settling with the silver, pale spidersilk and white theme.

Just my two cents.

I think you could keep the feather and lose the lily if you wanted to also. I like the bodice, but I STRONGLY recommend getting rid of those gloves. They're icky.

If you are going for green as the accent color, you could try a green skirt, with perhaps an ivory blouse and perhaps ivory or silver shoes. i'd also look for some type of silver jewelry that features green accents of some kind on it just to provide a more fluid look to it.

I personally think its way too much ink-black. There are many other descriptors for black that could be used. Ebon, Ebony, Midnight, Shadowy, etc.

The body makes a complete loop connecting at the top to a viper head rising up onto the face of the ring, protruding out with its maw wide open and fangs extended to appear as if piercing a small, blooming rose cameo. Two tiny, glittering pieces of despanel are set as eyes for the head, as well as a tiny shard at the end of one fang, imitating a poisonous droplet.

Fine silver boning lines the otherwise soft interior, providing adequate support and contour. The back of the corset is laced tightly with smooth satin ribbons that end in an intricate knot.

show on wristlets: Scintillating bloodjewels have been flawlessly linked together to create a trio of slender wristlets. Each teardrop-shaped stone is tinted a translucent red along the edge, darkening to near black at the core.

Really love the shows, Coley. This is why, if you ever retire your girls, I shall have to kidnap you and force you to give me all your stuffs. :D

The show on that corset touches on one of my big pet peeves. Alterations should be written so that either worn or not, they make logical sense as to what you can see and not see. This means that if you can't see something when it's worn, you shouldn't write it into the description. (It's the reverse of standard policy, which says that you can't write body parts into alterations, because when they're off the body, they don't make sense.) So how do I know, when you're wearing that corset, that *inside* is silver boning. I might be able to tell that it's boned, in general, but how do I tell that it's silver?

Don't take it personally, you're far from the only one I've seen who does it.

I can comment on this, due to a long conversation I remember having in the WD chat with Dex and many others.

In a show, information like that is ok. You wouldn't normally see the show, so it's safe to assume that if you inspected or if someone SHOWED you, the person was moving and that made it possible.

For instance-- the boning could peak out the top, or while that character was showing off her corset, she could be moving to allow the person looking to see that particular feature.

This is the same way that in shows, stockings can be thigh-highs, but it's better to make it more obscure in the tap. This way, when you show someone your stockings, they can pretend your character lifted their skirts or something to better demonstrate that.

Beyond that, there's a certain suspension of belief that comes with everything in the game. If the tap is appropriate, then I see nothing wrong with more indepth shows displaying what you wouldn't normally see at a moments glance.

I'll agree with you that the show should reveal more detail than the tap. That's fine.

For a corset, however, in my opinion the only way I'm going to see inside of it to tell the color of the boning is if it's removed from a person's body. It's a corset, it's tight. The fact that it's tight and that it hugs the body is what keeps it from falling down or off altogether. Unless it's falling off, or falling down, I'm not going to see the boning.

Like I said before though, this is a general pet peeve of mine, and goes beyond clothing. It's an opinion.

I own a corset (in real life, properly made too), hence why my own opinion is that you can see internal boning at the very top, and in the back of it, by looking at the top. *shrug* But, you've already heard all of my opinions on that stuff!

I'm an ex-goth, I have more than a passing familiarity with wearing corsets in real-life too. But if you can see the boning on yours, fine. I can't on mine. There's no need for this to turn into a fashionista pissing contest. You have an opinion, I have an opinion, and they're different.

Reliquary, torc and ring have been shown before. The gown is...so hideous that I love it. It even has a typo. It was a gift received around 96/97, and though I've toyed with the idea of fixing it, I can't bear to change it.

gown: Dyed a deep crimson hue, the gown flows like a waterfall and is fashioned to pool at the ankles, resembling spilled blood. A high collar edged with tiny black diamonds reflects an ebony light from within their sharply cut facets. The crushed-velvet bodice is tightly cinched with teardrop-shaped black diamond buttons traveling down the back the gown and along the fitted sleeves. The finished edge of the cathedral-length train is embroidered with an ancient prayer to the Dark Gods.

Whoa, that's quite a train! It's totally over-the-top evil. Lysistrata would love it.
