Vulcan foot pinch.
This is a case of hearing what others tell you to hear. When I listened to the video I could have sworn I heard a cop say "Drop the gun" at the 18 second mark but some Youtube comments were saying they heard "I lost my gun" now all I hear when I watch/listen to this is "I lost my gun, I lost my gun, he's got my gun, he's got a gun" then right afterward is when you see the cop reach for his gun, after that is when they open fire, after that is when the cop stands up and adjusts his holster.
I'm beginning to wonder if the cop really thought his gun fell out of his holster or something and he assumed the guy had a hold of it which is why he said "he's got my gun". Or maybe I'm just totally hearing things but I can't unhear this now.
It really doesn't help that the cop in question is the same one who lost his stick in the very beginning of the video and panicked, saying "Get my stick! Get my stick!" I suppose it's possible he panicked again thinking the guy had his gun, like the woman had his nightstick earlier.
Sad because if that's the case the cop who caused all of this won't be the one getting in trouble :/
Five cops on one unarmed guy should never end with someone being killed. End of story.
I bet this guy could take on 5 out of shape cops:

That guy injected oil into his arms for those guns, btw.
Couldn't remember his name beyond Greg but that's Greg Valentino, here's some article from 2002 about him from my initial search.

Probably. At least he did a better job than this guy:

I mean what the hell? And what is he lifting there?
"Yeah man, I can bench press 6 car parts attached to a piece of rebar."
