Surprisingly this article actually calls it what it is in regards to what Democrats are doing in Illinois, and that is gerrymandering.
Unsurprisingly a few hours after they released the first map I linked to a couple of days ago which would most likely result in Republicans going from 5 seats to 3 they released another map that would most likely result in Republicans getting just 2 seats. They faced pressure from national Democrats to redraw the map again to give Democrats an even better position.
Because remember Democrats hate gerrymandering and only Republicans do it.
