I would love to move back to Washington, but I can't just drop my lease, education and job to go do it.

I'm not saying people should up and leave without a plan.. I sure didn't... but if you are honestly miserable in the city/state/country you live in, why isn't your happiness your #1 priority at this stage in your life?

Eh, it's really hard to make grand comparisons like that. I can't imagine my quality of life being any better in any of those countries...but I'm not living in Detroit, either.

A large part of the reason for this is those places don't have massive populations of braindead conservatards fucking everything up. The QoL in the US will improve massively once we exterminate the conservative zealots who are fed, human centipede style, by Rupert Murdoch's asshole, to which their lips are permanently locked. Right wing conservatism is a social disease and the pariahs who have it need to be committed and treated for having a mental disorder.
