Hey, thats a great idea. How about from now on, Federal laws and regulations only effect states that have Senators that are in favor of them, and have no effect in states where they don't.

I'm sure Seran would be totally okay if citizens in these states also got a reduction on their federal taxes owed. Oh, no, wait, he still wants those people to pay taxes, he just doesn't want them to benefit if their senator has a problem with the bill.

Why yes, that is how it should work. Since we are a Representative Democracy, Representatives have the right to experience the results of the leadership they elected. Senator Hagerty would rather Tennessee not see any funds, so be it. I'm sure local businesses don't like roads or improved highways.

Accountability in politics means more than sitting by the sidelines throwing mud while you desperately hope your public stance doesn't come to fruition.

Taxes are paid regardless of Constitutional Apportionment, though I know as a Trumper Conservative, you have no knowledge of or respect for the Constitution. States are not guaranteed funding, and if politics means someone wants to take a stand and fuck over their constituency, then so be it.

So, yes, you're totally cool with Congress punishing states (let's get real, you're okay with a Democrat run Congress punishing Republican states) by withholding funds unless all of their elected officials get on board, but of course you still want those citizens to pay full taxes.

No, that isn't at all how it should work. Should Tennessee then also have their tax burden relieved when they refuse to support bills too? Is that how it should work? Hey, my Senators and the Senators of 20 other states think this bill is stupid. Have fun funding it!

No. The Federal Government makes laws for ALL. Not just select states that support them. Senators voting yay or nay on bills is how it works.

Trump tried to withhold EPA and DOE monies from California and other states who were fighting his shenangins and you kept your sloppy hole silent, despite his exceeding Executive authority trying to do so. Now you have a problem with Congress passing laws which obey the wishes of Congress an Senate officials who want to deny their constituents financial assistance.

How is that different than those twenty or so Senators getting their way and their states not getting any assistance? Again, taxation isn't voluntary and it is unavailable, but appropriations occur as a result of written budgets. Nothing stopping you fiscal conservatives from taking the moral high ground and refusing money.

Let's start off with the most important issue here: You are still defending the rapist and murderer known as Andrew Cuomo because he's a Democrat. Period.

Now let's get to the lesser important issue, of which you clearly know nothing about. There is a world of difference between withholding funds from states and cities until they abide by certain stipulations laid out in said funding regulations (it's what Congress did in the 80's to get states to raise the drinking age), and completely cutting off an entire state until all of their elected officials get on board with said legislation. One approach is reasonable in certain situations, the other is the making of a fascist state. I'll let you figure out which is which, but spoiler alert: The one you are pushing for is the fascism one.
