I'm actually wondering if some of my food has been getting contaminated by something in my house. 3 times in 2011 and 4 in 2012 I ended up in the hospital because of stomach related problems. If something is not poisoning me, then I have some serious issues that I need to deal with.Quote:

Yeah, the best way I can describe it is like this:
Have you ever had alcohol poisoning or even just a really bad night with alcohol where you throw up. Maybe for an hour, maybe for a few, but it usually goes away and leaves you drained. Now, that happens to me for days at a time. Anything that goes in comes back out within a few minutes. Sometimes, it won't even take anything going into my stomach and it'll just purge the bile. The problem is all these tests are super expensive, but I figured, it's a new year and might as well blow the deductible in the beginning of the year. Better than dying, I suppose.
Nice. When I was at SUNY Stony Brook, the only thing we had open that late was the "convenience store" which was 24 hrs. Basically it was like a 7-11 and had all sorts of prepackaged food - soup, frozen stuff, ice cream, chips, etc. Plus it had a deli for freshly made sandwiches and stuff, but I don't think that part was 24 hours. Clearly it would've been epic if it had freshly fried things to absorb all the alcohol in your belly at 2am.Quote:

My collie had to be put down today. Well, when I say my, I actually have to clarify that... my sister got the collie for her kids, who had no interest and basically the dog went from her crate to her kennel outside for like two years before I had my own place, at which point I took the dog with me (with their blessing). She and my other dog, Piper, formed their own little family along with my roommate's dog Cali. Anyway, to try and shorten the story, when her youngest son was older he wanted the dog back... so since I had already had to give up Piper and Sophie was getting lonely, I let him. In all fairness he did take very good care of her during her years of decline. The last week or so her seizures just got worse and she could no longer rise on her own. She was 13.
I may have said this before (and been shown the heart-wrenching photo/words about why I should adopt again) but I am so done with pets. She was a good dog, such a sweetheart.

That's a good long life for a collie. Glad she was well-loved right up to the end but I'm sorry for your loss.
I can most certainly sympathize.
