Week 1
: 25-31 May
Goals: 10 total miles, 2 mile "long" run
Week's Total Miles: 11.2
Longest Run: 2.7 Miles
Street Runs: 6
Trail Runs: 1
Track Runs: 0

  1. Evening Run

    Happy with this last run. 7.5 miles around the post perimeter. Longest run since I ran the Army 10 Miler many years back.

  2. Week 2 Update


    Week 2:
    1-7 June
    Goals: 15 total miles, 5 mile long run
    Week's Total Miles: 16.8 Miles
    Longest Run: 4 Miles
    Street Runs: 3 (1.1+1.5, 3.4, and 4)
    Trail Runs: 1 (2.5)
    Track Runs: 2 (2, 2)

    Failed the long run as my knee started to hurt like hell and I didn't want to push it. Overall, i'm sore but feeling stronger. The goals for next week are 20 total miles, with the long run being at least 5 miles. I need to start running + walking in extended

  3. A Rough Training Plan Provided by a Friend



    BASE:
    6 weeks


    You can begin with only 20 miles per week, but build to 35 miles before starting the next phase.

    MON: Easy run Start with 3 miles and work up to 5 or 6 by week 6.
    TUE: Strength workout 10 minutes of abdominal work, plus 1 x 12 reps of squats, lunges, calf raises, dips, and bench presses
    WED: Easy run 4 to 5 miles, adding a few hills each week. By week 6 the run should be mostly hills. This can either be a continuous run on hilly ...
