Hidden or Invisible: A thick, shadowy mist pours into the area.

Invoking this leather-bound tome will grant you permanent access to a special method of preparing your spells.

Third Person: A swirling cloud of shadow forms around Livdera's right hand as she prepares a spell...
Hidden or Invisible: A swirling cloud of shadows forms in midair.

How do custom spell preps work? Is it for a single spell, an entire spell circle, or all spells prepped?

Someone who's actually used one of these will have to chime in - I know there are specific ones that only work on particular spells, while others will work on all spells prepped or specific circles. These may be all spells prepped - I am not sure.

I think Livdera is right. This is a general spell prep for any spell your can cast.

How do custom spell preps work? Is it for a single spell, an entire spell circle, or all spells prepped?

These ones are for all spells. So if you activate it without any other custom spell preps then this one will take over all your spell slots.

Spell preps are determined by the order they are setup. Example of my order:
1. Your fingertips begin to glow with a soft light as you call upon the power of the elements in the Lock Pick Enhancement invocation... (Restricted to Lock Pick Enhancement.)
2. You take a deep breath and quickly mutter the invocation of the Disarm Enhancement spell... (Restricted to Disarm Enhancement.)
3. Your vision flashes crimson as a swarm of ethereal crimson-eyed scarabs envelop you before quickly evaporating into a vaporous mist. (Restricted to Minor Elemental spells.)
4. Mirage-like distortions surround you as you prepare the [Spell Name] spell...
5. A thick, shadowy mist pours out of your mouth as you prepare [Spell Name]...

So for me, 403 and 404 have slots and 1 and 2. Minor Elemental circle for slot 3. Everything else falls under slot 4.

If I rotate slot 4 or 5 to slot 1 then they would replace all spell circles. Hopefully this helps!
