Are there no more ads on YouTube or something? I thought there were like skipable ads and ads everywhere and I just never saw them because I had Adblock running. However I turned Adblock off and yet I still never see any ads. I tried Internet Explorer (where I don't have Adblock installed on) and still no ads. I even downloaded Chrome just to be absolutely sure there is no Adblock running and I see a giant ad on YouTube's homepage but I never see an ad anywhere else.

I thought, okay, maybe it's my antivirus so to be absolutely sure it's nothing on my computer preventing ads I checked out YouTube on my phone and for some videos off to the right in the "recommended videos" section, the top link says "Ad" next to it but again that's it. No ads shown before videos, no ads shown during videos. Nothing.

Not that I actually want to see ads, just curious if YouTube did away with ads or something? How do they make money? How do people making YouTube videos make money with no ads playing? Are ads just very rare now? Am I some sort of Anti-Ad God and I can make ads disappear subconsciously with my mind?

It's because no one cares to advertise to the shit your interested in. Small market.

There must be hundreds of people looking for amputee tranny midget porn.

Assuming you're being serious though, are you saying no one is interested in advertising on the videos I watch or that I don't fit the demographic of what type of person they want to advertise to?

I watch Youtube on my Xbone and PC, and there are no ads on PC but one plays before most Xbone videos. They are short though, and can be skipped after like 3 seconds.

I had heard that youtube was going to be offering monthly subscriptions to get zero ads. Maybe they are stopping ads so that people realize how amazing it is without ads and will buy a monthly sub once they turn the ads back on.

Forgot to mention I use adblock, which blocked 3 ads on the main youtube site and 17 more on individual video pages. So it definitely is doing some work.

So the ads are of the ones that play like at the beginning then after 3 or 5 seconds you can just click to skip them?

That's what I thought most ads are. It's weird though, I can now see the huge giant banner ad on YouTube homepage on Firefox but not a single ad plays during any videos, and I've checked out some videos that have millions of views so they must be trying to monetize that shit...I would imagine.
