So, I'm trying to maximize CS and general offensive ability. I'm just curious as to what, if anything, I should drop or change. I'm not worried about ensorcelling at the moment (it'll be something I pick up way later).

Why 12 ranks of armor use? Huh? ANSWER ME!

You could probably also lower climbing and swimming ranks for now. Depending on where you hunt you won't need much of either for a while yet. Like Icemule for example, you can hunt all the way up to seekers with just 20 or 30 ranks of climbing and 0 swimming.

Sorcerer max CS is something like sorc + 21, minor lists 2/3 of level isn't it?

I think I'm able to 2.5x spells and 1x lores at level 18, how are your TPs?

Also, y u 1x climb and swim???

I'm just tossing physical points into those skills for no real reason. OR MAYBE I WANNA WEAR BRIG ONE DAY.

I don't know!

Uh... I can 2x spells at best but I cut some necro lores to jump MnE to 1x. I could probably cut some Mana Control but I'm not entirely sure what effect that'll have.

I LIKE TO SWIM AND CLIMB

You really only need 4 ranks for fulls because even doubles cause hindrance and unless you have a ballin' set, can lead you to your DOOM! DOOOOOOOOM!

For your current level, 1 rank of necro lore would be enough(to make use of the health stealing ability of 701). I don't think I'd train in any lores beyond that until I was between level 35 and 50 since you have enough reasons to want lore at that point.

At low levels for me the push is always about having the most spells available to me. So 120 at 20, 425 at 25, 430 at 30 while still trying to keep sorc at the ideal +21.

Jeez that sounds difficult. I'm barely investing anything into the 100's as is.

Put zero points into Armor Use. Don't worry about armor for now, just wear robes. You should be pretty immune to everything up to the mid 20s in guarded stance.

Train 1x in Sorc Spells, then 1x in MnE and .5x in MnS. Prioritize getting to 120 and 430 before worrying about +21 Sorc spells. 425 alone will be a higher CS increase at that early train.

You should be able to do that while keeping 1x in HP, MIU, AS, and SMC or EMC.

Don't train any climb / swim unless you have to, and you will eventually want to put Necro lore up to at least .5x (for 711 alone) as well as making sure you're 1x in both MCs and Perception. I wouldn't worry about any tertiary skills (FA, Survival, etc) until you've achieved .66x in MnS/MnE and Sorc + 21. It won't happen quickly. I don't think I had Sorc + 21 until past 50 trains.

A lot of perspectives here are from higher levels. Here's my advice that I was recently given when I entertained making a sorcerer:

1) Drop swimming to 0
2) Just stop training in climbing for now
3) Your next two spell ranks should be 102 and 103 (then go back up the 400s until 425)
4) 2.5x spells is tough at lower levels, but try to stay around 2.25x if you can. 2x at lower levels is acceptable, but get to 425 by 25-30. 430 isn't as big a priority as some are suggesting.
5) Get armor use to 4 or 8. Avoid robes. But don't go over 8 ranks.
6) Stop training in perception for now. Pick it up later if you need the TPs today.
7) Spell Aiming is actually really important for 20s and 30s. You are going to hit a really crappy CS/TD patch from about level 20 until you get 425. 710 and 720 will be important- both need 2x spell aim. Whether you continue with it or not after that is up to you, but either go 2x or 0x. 1x is functionally useless.

I completely agree with the individuals that gave you spell goals like 120 at level 20, 425 at level 25, 430 at level 30. For my sorcerers/wizards, I am 1x each spell circle up to level 30. It is not until level 30 that I begin pumping up my sorcerer circle for sorcerers, or my MjE circle for wizard. At level 30, usually I go 2x focused spell circle (in your case sorcerer) and continue 1x in MnE until I reach that +20/21 threshold, then I flop it to 1x sorcerer and 2X MnE. Gotta say, I love the CS I have for my guys.

On a side note, have fun, sorcerers are one of the easiest professions there is, and no stressers to speak of.

With this character at such a low level, I am making the assumption that they are still in their 30 day migration. If this is the case, moving skills around to maximize things would be easy enough. This is why I made the suggestions I made in my previous post.

I have no idea why you think 3x spells is hard. I have done it with every pure I have (cleric, empath, wizard, sorcerer) and never had an issue.

Armor, meh, no need at low levels like this individual is. I personally only choose to do robes, or doubles as a pure, just my preference, and for me it has not hurt me either way, though I do get frustrated at times with the 4% spell hindrance.

As a sorcerer, I personally do not bother with spell aim. My capped sorcerer is only 1x at the moment (post cap 1x), though my next several hundred TP's will be going into spell aim so that I am 2x. I went from 0-100 with no spell aim. CS was never an issue. Worst case in the level area you mentioned, I was down to a 60-70% chance to hit. Most everything else is at least 100% chance to hit.

OP what you are likely noticing is that for the most part, it comes down to a personal choice of how you want to build and play your character. I prefer max CS for spell casters which is my plus, the negative is that cmans kick my ass if I let the mobs have a chance to get them off. It's been proven time and again that you can cap pretty much anyway you want, so it's simply a matter of what you want to do.

For spells it depends on what you have access to as well. If you have regular access to either MnE or MnS, or don't mind bumming guards from people for a while you don't need to train much in MnE until you hit 25. New characters have a fixskills, or if you get far enough in your 30 days you can just swap around to get 425 in either case.

You don't really need mana controls, but it depends on society choice I think? You want a bonus of at least 100 between the two for sacrifice(so 10 each, or up to 24 ranks of a single control) With the changes to mana spell up, I'd suggest getting at least 25 ranks in one control. I think trying to get all your spells as soon as you can is a bit silly, you don't actually need them that soon. Some of it may depend on your own goals though.

Which kind of brings us to the most important part of this. What do you want out of this character?

For the first 30 days, I'd say pump your sorcerer spells, abuse the near instant skill switches as much as possible, 1 MnE, 1 MnS, 2x HP, rest in sorcerer spells while hunting then spread out to get whatever spell ranks you need for defense while resting, preferably right after a bounty.
